Andrea Downing is Co-President of PBS Distribution, the leading distributor of public television programs in the digital, physical and international markets. Her PBS Distribution portfolio also includes ecommerce, theatrical and educational. Downing has been instrumental in driving revenue opportunities by launching and expanding both retail and digital partnerships, and through launching new products and lines of business including PBS America, a commercial channel in the UK. She has lead growth in PBS Distribution’s drama, factual and children’s businesses through an aggressive content acquisition strategy of successful brands such as Downton Abbey, Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood and the Ken Burns library.
Prior to joining PBS in 2001, Ms. Downing worked with Discovery Communications, Inc. (DCI), which produces Discovery Channel, TLC, and Animal Planet. Ms. Downing earned a B.A. from Michigan State University in Business, Materials and Logistics Management.
